CH-148 Cyclone makes madien flight
According to David Pugliese, the CH-148 Cyclone has made its maiden flight at Sikorsky’s West Palm Beach Facility in Florida. The thirty minute long test flight was reported to be successful, but there is little expectation that the flight can be treated as a major indicator that the programme is proceeding toward meeting its 2010 delivery date. The aircraft that undertook the flight was, according to Pugliese, very basic in its outfitting, and did not have the integrated mission system package installed (it is still under development).
The Maritime Helicopter Project (MHP) was initiated by the Chrétien government in 2000 to replace the existing antiquated CH-124 Sea King fleet of helicopters serving the Navy. Through the programme, the Canadian Forces became the first buyer of the H92 Superhawk being developed by Sikorsky. The project has been plagued with developmental delays and technical difficulties with the original design to date.
The initial delivery was originally anticipated for November 30, 2008 (just under two weeks’ time).

December 29th, 2008 at 12:35 amI don’t think Canada should do business with Sikorsky again. The delivery date is crucial as the Sea Kings are grounded. Without these helicopters we only have limited Sub hunting skills and are a much easier target. I hope we don’t enter any conflicts before they arrive.

February 14th, 2009 at 11:10 pmNow I think it should be replaced the older CH147 F chinook turn around into the new CH92G heavy lift helicopter as well as it’s looks like a CH 53E “super sea dragon” to which it is bigger than the ones it used to be, But it has to be copied from each one of those helicopter ideas from the west palm beach facility in Florida area and also it should be replaced the older aging CH 124 Sea King naval helicopters turn around into a new CH98C Kingfisher helicopter to make more room to solved any problems to handled their first flight to the navy base in Halifax N.S. and especially B.C. too….Now I think it is a very serious reputations about those new helicopter plans more specifically solved any certain reasons for that planning ideas to creates more room and wider than the ones form the CH124 sea king are having a very very bad times in flighting problems more dangerously can relied harmless to the pilots can recognized more specific problems with that helicopters in the Canadian Navy reserved, and more actively can happens to the CH147D Chinook could NOT carried enough heavy lift problems during the vietnam war and it should be solved any problems with that new CH92D Cheyenne heavy lift helicopters to creates more bigger room enough to carried the troops and supplies and other vehicles to carried by the slings during flight on the way out and otherwise it has to be done anyway and also it has to solved any problems to be certified all that A/C’s…..:)
